STUFFit Student Film Festival’s
2025 Screening Event.

4th October at Light Industry, Kunda Park.

The 25Crew share some thoughts to the filmmakers who entered the 2025 STUFFit Student Film Festival.

I enjoy seeing what students have been doing. I’ve judged for a few years now and it’s interesting to see how techniques and subject matter change. There’s always a very diverse approach to animation and one or two stand-outs.

I’m the owner of QuEvents and we deliver events across Queensland. I’d like to acknowledge the important work of Robyn Cook in the local events space. Robyn has created employment pathways for youth considering a career in events and as a local employer I find this very exciting for my own selfish reasons. You’re creating my future workers.

In just 90 seconds you will see the difference 25 hours can make. From Crew-build trepidation at the beginning to pumped with success at the end.

Our crew-build brought 16 students together to collaborate with QuEvents, Light Industry and Alfies Event Hire for a full dress-rehearsal and then delivered the screening event to 100 people the following week. These students enjoyed a team-build experience like no other.

In three days these young people quickly built a social network based on shared interests and friends-in-common, it was dynamic and nurturing.

I’m grateful to Sarah and Norm for being brilliant hosts of this cool venue. Quentin and Riley for your brilliant ‘let’s do this’ professionalism. Sue for your relentless support. Shannon for your incredible trust and generosity. Thank you for your financial support, problem solving brains and emotional strength.

Our Events students dive into a whirlwind of engaging experiences that spark creativity and collaboration as they work towards our annual Screening event.

Students experience a variety of event environments and circumstances working with Event professionals to round their knowledge across industries.

From hands-on tasks to vibrant discussions, participants explore everything from sustainability and innovation to art and technology.

They team up on quirky projects, forge new friendships, and challenge their ideas in a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and brainstorming.

With each event, students leave with not just new skills and knowledge but also a stash of inspiration to take on the world—ready to sprinkle a bit of chaos and colour into their everyday lives!

Leadership and Management

This program, delivered through the STUFFit Student Film Festival framework, offers students aged 16–25 hands-on leadership training.

Participants will explore leadership theories, effective workplace relationships, and organisational values while developing operational plans and implementing strategies.

Key skills include conflict resolution, stakeholder communication, task delegation, and monitoring performance using KPIs.

In 2026, students will also have the opportunity to attach themselves to major corporate and creative events, gaining exposure to high-level operations and building valuable professional connections. This course prepares students for leadership roles across diverse industries.
